What describes the current model of the atom? That electrons and protons move randomly around a nucleus. Electrons travel as waves in the electron cloud that surrounds the nucleus. Electrons orbit the nucleus like planets orbit the sun. Protons orbit the nucleus like planets orbit the sun.

OpenStudy (photon336):

Electrons don't orbit around the nucleus like planets around the sun. This would imply that you could calculate both their position and things like that etc. They can behave like waves if I remember correctly, and you can't exactly known both the position and momentum of an electron , the more you know about one factor the less you know about another. The electrons are located in orbitals where the probability of finding them is likely.

Your protons and neutrons are in the nucleus of the atom.
