OpenStudy (welshfella):
6x - 8 = 4x
first get all terms in x to the left
subtract 4x from both sides
6x - 4x - 8 = 4x - 4x
2x - 8 = 0
now add 8 to both sides
can you continue?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i dont know :( :/
OpenStudy (welshfella):
if we add 8 to both sides we get -8 + 8 = 0 and right side becomes 8
2x - 8 + 8 = 8
2x = 8
OpenStudy (welshfella):
now if 2 times something is 8 what is that something?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
0h wait, its the answer: -51?

OpenStudy (welshfella):
thats what x will be
OpenStudy (anonymous):
multiply 2 by 8= 16?
OpenStudy (welshfella):
no
2x = 8
2x means 2 multiplied by x
