Can I please have help wording a phrase in my English paper?

So the assignment is to write an introductory paragraph to an argumentative essay stating wether I think Brutus from "Julius Caesar" was a betrayer, or a Patriot. The example from my lesson is here:I plan to prove that Antony’s funeral speech was more effective than Brutus’s because he made better use of appeals to logic, emotions, and ethics. This matters because these argumentative skills are still used even today. I was able to state what I plan to prove, but I cannot think of why it matters. I want to relate Brutus's situation to real life situations that people have encountered. I was thinking of maybe relating Lincoln's assasination. John Wilkes Booth thought he was a patriot and would be honored for killing Lincoln. However, he had to betray his nation. I am stuck on coming up with the phrase on why it matters. I will give a medal to anyone who helps :).
