HELP !!! In a triangle, the second angle is twice the measure of the first, and the third angle is three times the measure of the second. Find the measure of the third angle . A. 20 B. 30 C. 120 D. 180 It is NOT B.

OpenStudy (alekos):

well we know that the sum of the three angles of a triangle add up to 180 degrees right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you work in terms of the first angle, there is 9 x the first angle. There is 180 degrees in a triangle. 180/9=20 degrees. 1st angle = 20 degrees 2nd angle = 2x20=40 degrees 3rd angle = 3x40=120 degrees. added together, you get 180 degress

OpenStudy (alekos):

now if we call the first angle x what would this mean?

OpenStudy (alekos):

not a good idea to just give it away
