Given the function g(x) = 8x − 2, compare and contrast g(−2) and g(4). Choose the statement that is true concerning these two values. A)The value of g(−2) is larger than the value of g(4). B)The value of g(−2) is the same as the value of g(4). C)The value of g(−2) is smaller than the value of g(4). D)The values of g(−2) and g(4) cannot be compared.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

to find g(-2), plug in -2 instead of x, into the function g(x).

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Same way, to find g(4), plug in 4 instead of x (into the same function).

I NEED to find?

@Haseeb96

OpenStudy (haseeb96):

we need to find to find the value of g(-2) and g(4) first okay what we will do for it first plug -2 at the place of x in the given equation you will get g(-2) = -18 now plug or put 4 at the place of x , you will get g(4) = 30

OpenStudy (haseeb96):

now compare it we get that the value of g(-2) is less than g(4) because g(-2) = -18 and g(4) =30 . I hope you get it if you have any other question regarding my explanation ask me freely. thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait so the answer its D?

OpenStudy (haseeb96):

no , Answer will be C
