Can some one help me with this please? Line AB has an equation of a line y = 5x − 2. Which of the following could be an equation for a line that is parallel to line AB? y = 5x + 3 y = 1 over 5x + 3 y = −5x + 3 y = −1 over 5x + 3

OpenStudy (mrnood):

in the original equation it is of the form of the general equation for a straight line: y=mx+b the value of m in that equation is the slope of the line If a line is parallel with it then it will have the SAME slope So look at the answers and find which has the SAME value representing m as the original equaiton

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A?

OpenStudy (mrnood):

what is the value of m you are looking for?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5

OpenStudy (mrnood):

OK correct - A is the right answer

Thank you!
