What will be the perimeter and the area of the rectangle below if it is enlarged using a scale factor of 4.5? Perimeter = 46 cm, area = 131.25 cm2 Perimeter = 126 cm, area = 972 cm2 Perimeter = 46 cm, area = 972 cm2 Perimeter = 126 cm, area = 131.25 cm2

"enlarged by a scale factor of 4.5" means that the length and width each get multiplied by 4.5 old length = 8 old width = 6 new length = 4.5*(old length) = __ ? new width = 4.5*(old width) = __ ?
You just multiply area and the perimeter by 4.5
okayy so it would be new width would be 27 the new length is 36
@Vocaloid you didn't multiply the area
And the same with the area...
@liana1036 right! the new width is 27 and the new length is 36 perimeter = 2(new width + new length) = ?
Hope it helps
126
good! area = (new length)*(new width) = ?
Yes
good
972
excellent!
Yep, you got it
Thanks to the both of you c:
shortcut method: new perimeter = 4.5*(old perimeter) new area = 4.5*4.5*(old area)
np :)
