WILL GIVE MEDAL Discussion question on lab I did? (stream) I did a lab where I analyzed bethnic invertebrates of a slow moving stream. I found upstream, organisms with tiny legs like stoneflies and caddisflies. I moved more south, and I found snails, Leeches and midges. Which end of the stream is healthier? Can someone help me think of factors?

@hermangill to be honest i am no expert in science but it is one of my favorite subjects. My opinion is that the organisms up stream have to be healthy and strong to fight the current no matter fast or slow they still are indeed fighting. and the the other organisms down stream don't really put any effort to go up stream. but to be honest it doesn't matter weather they are up stream or down stream they are healthiest they can be being in the place they live and live the way they are suppose to live!

OpenStudy (aryavegapunk):

Snails, leeches and midges are all decomposers. They live off of decaying and dying organisms. Taking this into consideration, the animals upstream are healthier. Caddisflies do not eat and stoneflies are a sign of healthy water.
