Think about the positive and negative consequences of the one-child policy. Nobody else will answer it so I'm posting it here, Will give medals.

Positive effects include Population control, less people out there the less impact on the environment.
Negatives include Goes against humans rights. Some social problems as parents spoilt the child, or they have high exceptions of there child to do well as its the only one they have. Such has produced the "little Buddha/emperor syndrome"

to add to that: another negative could be less help around the home, and less help in the future if the parent(s) become sick and need assistance later in life. carrying on the family name becomes quite the challenge if your child is female. a positive is that the parents will surely save money by only raising one kid as opposed to multiple children. lots of possibilities!
