I will give Medal and Reward! Which statement is correct about the two kites ?
Can someone show me how to proof to how to solve questions like these ?
@Phi help please :( Im not good with these type of questions. I guessed on it
similar kites have their corresponding lengths in a fixed ratio. hope this helps :)
how do I tell if they are corresponding?
Yay hello Phi :D
To tell if the kites are similar, I would count how wide is the first kite (at its widest point) Can you do that ?
Do I have to add up all the points ?
Im sorry I am not too well on questions like these
count how many "boxes"
put your finger on point D, and count how many boxes to get to point R
The bigger shape is 8 boxes wide
the small box is 2 boxes wide
yes. Now do that for the smaller kite (although now up, because it is lying in a different direction)
from point a to b ? vertically ?
we want to know how long in the same direction. Yes a to b (because that matches what you did on the big kite)
from point A to B is 4 boxes :D
Yes. It is like asking how tall are you, and then you lie down. we still want to measure from your feet to your head.
:) so small shape is 4 boxes and big shape is 8 boxes wide
so the big kite is 2 times bigger than the small kite now check the other direction. what do you get
From Y to E is 4 boxes and from D to R is 2 Boxes .
notice the big kite is 2 times bigger than the smaller kite. (if we got a different number, then they would *not* be similar) one last thing to check. how many boxes from the cross part up to the tip? in other words, how far straight up from D to B ? 1 step in the big kite it is 2 steps. still 2 times bigger.
Ahh I see ! From D to B is 1 box and from Y to K is 2 boxes c:
