Help Will MEDAL AND FAN What is the area of a circle with a diameter of sixteen meters? Use twenty-two sevenths for pi. one hundred eighty-four and six-sevenths meters squared one hundred eighty-eight meters squared two hundred one and one-seventh meters squared two hundred four and two-sevenths meters squared

OpenStudy (marihelenh):

If the diameter is 16, the radius is 8 because it is half of the diameter. You can use the equation\[A=(\pi)r ^{2}\] Just plug in the values you know. \[A=(\frac{ 22 }{ 7 })(8)^{2}\] (I'm sure on this one. I have the equations for the right this time.)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i still dont get it i did 22/7 times 8 and got 25.14

OpenStudy (marihelenh):

Square the 8 first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i do 64 x 22/7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh thanks

OpenStudy (marihelenh):

Yep! You'll multiply 22*64 and then put it over 7.
