OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

Which was not a global effect of industrialization A. growth of monoculture in less-developed countries B. expansion of European colonization in Africa and Asia C. end to the inequitable system of dependent economies D. new division of labor between Western and non-Western workers

OpenStudy (paki):

Tectonic activity has increased at an accelerated rate since the early 1700's, just about the time of the industrial revolution. The rise in atmospheric CO2 levels is directly attributed to the increased tectonic activity which raised the atmospheric CO2 levels. It is an illusion that the industrialization has caused atmospheric CO2 levels to rise.

@jagr2713

OpenStudy (paki):

@vera_ewing what you think about the answer here... ?

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

I think B.

OpenStudy (paki):

no

OpenStudy (paki):

new try please....

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

Why isn't it B?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C. end to the inequitable system of dependent economies

OpenStudy (paki):

Your question says "not a global effect".... so not B... bcz expansion of European colonization leads this effect....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This excerpt says it all "China, Egypt, and India all became dependent economies, powerless to chart their own course, unable to industrialize on their own, and reliant on for- eign producers for manufactured goods. By the end of the nineteenth century, Western industrialized nations had achieved outright political control over most of Africa and Asia."

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

So the answer is C?

OpenStudy (paki):

not C.... growth of monoculture in less-developed countries is not the global effect... .so will go for A....

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

Okay. Thanks.

OpenStudy (paki):

my pleasure...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats incorrect.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Answer is C

OpenStudy (paki):

not C...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The claim is an "end to the inequitable system of dependent economies"

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

Which was NOT a global effect of industrialization?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This was not an effect global industrialization

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Employment in less-developed regions centered on agri- cultural production or the extraction of natural resources. This system granted no opportunity for economic development in the source countries. In addition, growing large quantities of a single crop over a wide area, a process called monoculture, is disastrous to the natural envi- ronment. Monoculture devastates habitats, exhausts the soil, and fouls streams with runoff. Moreover, reliance on only one resource can produce an economic catastrophe if it should fail.

OpenStudy (paki):

NOT a global effect so A is correct one...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Monoculture was a global effect.
