Can anyone help me ill metal & fan.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know the equation to find volume? and the one for surface area?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Surface area is A; 1176ft. :

OpenStudy (anonymous):

voluam is 1512ft.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so the surface area to volume ratio is 1176/1512. Is that less than 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

put surface area over volume in a fraction and if the fraction is greater than 1 then he shouldn't manufacture them but in this case it is less than 1 so he should manufacture them.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it isnt less then one i dont think @peachpi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

don't guess, just stick it in a calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1176/1512 = 0.7777777....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

woops, sorry. it is less then one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then they would make the box

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is 1176 less than 1512? it is. if the numerator of a fraction is less than the denominator, isn't it less than 1? it is. so it is less than 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could you help me with another one please? @peachpi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure

Three identical cubes are put together to form a square prism. The volume of each cube is 125 cubic centimeters. Find the volume of the prism & Find the surface area of the prism?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@peachpi @night.soul45

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the volume is 375 cubic centimeters

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you show me how you got 375?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if all have a volume of 125 then you multiply that by the number of cubes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, how about area?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first i have to find the length of 1 of the sides of a cube

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the surface area is 350 centimeters

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you help me with a few more ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure

A short fence will be built around the perimeter of the garden region. Find the number of meters of fencing required. Round your answer to the nearest tenth. Show all your work.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@night.soul45 ????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

perimeter of the curve of the semicircle\[P=\frac{ 3.14 }{ d }\] in which the diameter is 1.2 meters. that would equal 2.62 now to find the whole perimeter\[(1.8\times2)+1.2+2.62=7.42\] which rounds to 7.4meters.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Tabby_012???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im so sorry i had to go pick up my baby cousin!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For the same image Find the total area of the garden region. Round your answer to the nearest tenth. Show all your work.
