I have to identify the postulate or theorem that proves the triangles congruent. I've been looking at some examples online, and I'm still very confused. Could someone kindly explain to me, so I can understand better? (Image(s) posted below.)
probably SAS , SSS, or ASA
congruent also means equivalent. . .
Yeah I know, but when I look at the website, and look at the examples, I still don't quite understand. (I'm about to post another photo.)
I think there's a theorem some where about angles and sides being congruent like SAS? Let me check
The Side Angle Side postulate (often abbreviated as SAS) states that if two sides and the included angle of one triangle are congruent to two sides and the included angle of another triangle, then these two triangles are congruent.
Look at what you are "given" in one of the triangles, the "marked" angles and sides what is marked in one of the triangles?
ok hint: SSA theorem doesn't exist.. try typing SSA backwards. (sorry mod but it's kind of funny xD)
I've been looking at the definitions, but determining which of the terms goes with it is difficult for me.
Look at what you are "given" in one of the triangles, the "marked" angles and sides what is marked in one of the triangles?
the angle is marked, right?
keep going. Yes, and little ) or )) near the angle means it matches that other triangle's ) or ))
So... would it be SAS?
How many angles are marked in one of the triangles?
That's not even an option on there, lol. Nvm. & two of them?
yes, two angles are marked (and they match the two angles in the other triangle that are marked) so you should start by thinking AA something next, what about the sides? are any "marked" ?
im just gonna listen and learn
None of the sides are marked
First, one of the sides looks bold
hmm I see the angles... there could be one side ?
Second, one line is a "side" in both triangles ,
Even if it's not marked?
So, it's going to be AAS?
I think the "bold" means it is marked. but even if it were not, I would say that side is congruent in both triangles. so AAS
I'm assuming that the triangles when they're together, they share the same side?
so we have 2 angles and a side. AAS . yup that works
I didn't send anything inappropriate to you @DaBest21. I said in the message to show some respect before I blocked you.
The way you know it is not ASA is A S A means angle , then a side , then an angle. your picture shows angle, angle , side (if you start at the correct angle)
about what i just said where the chat was
Thank you for you time, @phi . Your help was greatly appreciated.
Can you two please take this elsewhere I',m trying to learn.
Ugh whatever
no. You were being rude me by assuming that I didn't know where the chat is and I already do . So stop going into other people's questions. I said learn some respect. There is nothing inappropriate about it @Dabest21
i thought u didnt know u said they should have a general chat
yeah they should have a general chat subject area in addition to the chat box in the math section .
oh sorry i just misunderstood i didnt mean to start a fight
I just got a warning from a mod for something I didn't do. I'm about to quit openstudy.
oh :(
dont what was it about
the warning claimed that I've done the off topic question which I didn't in the first place. I'm being wrongly accused here.
oh thats wierd
that wasn't me who did that. :/
well srry about before
same here... but I hate openstudy now for what just happened. I'm being wrong accused. :*(
*wrongly accused. after all I did for them.
that happened to me once it said i was spamming the chat when i didnt know they had a chat
trying to enforce the rules in here... helping others... some people even want me to apply for ambi and qh. And they did this to me?
Openstudy just stabbed me in the back!
:*(
I don't care if I reach 90 SS now.
just keep going its just one warning right?
I don't care...
i mean i dont know if it affects anything
I really don't care. . . OpenStudy stabbed me in the back... I'm super upset.
well im srry and im gonna go do more questions so just send me a message if u need anything
