what went wrong with the occupy movement

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Occupy started out as a diverse group of people with a common complaint. They represented the widely held view that the global financial system was broken and needed to be fixed. Occupy did not not offer a solution for the simple reason that the problem is complex and there is no simple or obvious solution. After a few months of searching for such a solution the movement became dominated by members of the radical left, whose solution has always been and will always be worse than the problem. When I saw that the camp outside Saint Paul's Cathedral in London was awash with placards printed by the Socialist Workers Party, I knew that Occupy was finished. It no longer spoke for me or the majority of the people who supported it at the outset.
