If you have to find g(f(x), all you have to do is substitute (f(x) in for x in g(x). G(f(x))= (4x^2 +x +1)^2 -2 Now just simplify: 4x^2 + x^2 +2 - 2 And the 2's cancel so you end up with 4x^2 +x^2
