how do you factor this completely? 6h^2 + 17h - 14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(2 h+7) (3 h-2) \]

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well this is the method I use for a quadratic \[ax^2 + bx + c = 0\] multiply a and c so you need to multiply 6 and -14 6*-14 = -84 then find the factors that add to b, 17 you need to know the larger factor is positive and the smaller is negative... can you do that..?
