OpenStudy (summersnow8):

Two ladders at the ends of a scaffold support a mass of 90.0 kg each. An 80.0-kg worker is on the scaffold with a pile of bricks. Find the mass of the bricks. I know the answer is 100 kg, but my problem is: Two ladders which support the ends of a scaffold support 100.0 kg each. A 75.0-kg worker is on the scafoold with a pile of bricks. Find the mass of the bricks in kg. the answer is supposedly 125 kg, how did they get that answer?

OpenStudy (irishboy123):

you need to draw this first

OpenStudy (summersnow8):

@IrishBoy123 can you help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The ladders support 200 kg total. 200 kg - 75 kg = 125 kg I guess if the scaffold itself is massless :/
