Choose the correct description of the graph of the compound inequality: x - 2 > -3 and 3x 12 A. A number line with an open circle on -1, shading to the left, and a closed circle on 4, shading to the right B. A number line with a closed circle on -1, shading to the left, and an open circle on 4, shading to the right C. A number line with an open circle on -1, a closed circle on 4, and shading in between D. A number line with a closed circle on -1, an open circle on 4, and shading in between

A. I think.

You can easily change the inequalities in the problem into the forms x > A and x <= B. x > A means open circle at A, shading to the right of A. x <= B means closed circle at B, shading to the left of B

The third option. x-4>-10 gives you x>-10+4 or x>-6 and since it is greater than and not greater than or equal to, there is an open circle and the arrow goes to the right because the numbers to the right are greater than -6. 8x<_ 32 gives you x<_4 and since it is less than or equal to, you need a closed circle and the arrow goes to the left since the numbers on the left are less than 4
