HELP!!!!! graph 36 x^2-4y^2=144. Edit: I've graphed it out but I don't know if a goes on the x column or b goes on the x column. Also should the foci be larger than a and b?

OpenStudy (loser66):

You CAN do it, I believe.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a=+/-2 b==+/-6 c=sqrt40

OpenStudy (loser66):

Pay attention, b goes with y; a goes with x

OpenStudy (loser66):

if x first as this case (x^2 - y^2.....) the denominator of x is a, denominator of y is b and its shape is Horizontal |dw:1437525427804:dw|
