Can anyone help me with box plots?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@robtobey

OpenStudy (phi):

First, does it have a "peak" (i.e. a biggest column) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@phi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes it has a peak.

OpenStudy (phi):

so you can narrow the answer to two choices.

OpenStudy (phi):

if you can figure out where is the peak (what "x" value is underneath the peak)?

OpenStudy (phi):

symmetric is a fancy word for the left side matches or is a mirror image of the right side. (for example, you are (more or less) symmetric) a picture is symmetric if you divide it in half. do the two sides have the "same shape" ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So its b @phi

OpenStudy (phi):

divide the graph at its peak. do the two halves look the same?

OpenStudy (phi):

symmetric means the left half looks like the right half

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No

OpenStudy (phi):

so your graph is *not* symmetric

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be D

OpenStudy (phi):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand it thank you (:
