x - 6
6 subtracted from the value x
2(x divided by 2)
2 multiplied with the quotient of x divided by 2
4(x-8)
4 multiplied with the difference of 8 from x
OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):
1/2x + 4 = 12
Step 1: Subtract 4 from both sides of the equation..what do you get?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
1/2x=8
OpenStudy (midhun.madhu1987):
yes... perfect...
Step 2: Multiply both sides of the equation by 2..
what you get?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
1=16?
