For which pairs of functions is (f*g)(x)=12x -f(x) = 3 – 4x and g(x) = 16x – 3 -f(x) = 6x2 and g(x)=2/x -f(x)sqrtx and g(x)=144 -f(x) = 4x and g(x) = 3x

OpenStudy (freckles):

have you tried to find the products of f and g in the choices?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

12x has x raised to the power of 1, and without any constants or without any greater-that-1-power-of-x terms.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

the first option will give you constant at the end when multiplied, and the 1st term containing x². in the second option you multiply 6•2 (giving you 12), and the x's cancel out leaving you with x raised to what power? see what I mean....? test them just in your head.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so its the second one

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ty that was realy easy haha

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

:) the last one is close, and you get a coefficient of 12, but your x term has a power of 2 (not 1)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

and certainyl not 144•√x ....

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

yw
