when 10 gallons of gasoline are put into a cars tank the idicator goes from 1/8 of a tank to 3/4. What is the total capacity of the gasoline tank

OpenStudy (jacob902):

I believe it is 16 gallons. 3/4 is equal to 6/8 so subtract 6/8 by 1/8 and you get 5/8. Therefore, 10 gallons/5 is equal to 2 (where 2 gallons is 1/8). Multiply 2 by 8 to 16 (2/1 = 16/8). So it is 16 gallons
