How would I solve this?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

\(\large\color{slate}{\displaystyle\lim_{x \rightarrow ~-2}~\dfrac{x^2-4}{x+2}~~\Rightarrow~~\lim_{x \rightarrow ~-2}~\dfrac{x^2-2^2}{x+2}~~\Rightarrow~~\lim_{x \rightarrow ~-2}~\dfrac{(x+2)(x-2)}{x+2}}\)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

(x+2) 's is going to cancel out, and then plug in -2 for x.
