#1 Which sentence below most strongly emphasizes the importance of the decision? a) Over the next year, the direction of the company depends on the quick decision we must make. b) The direction of the company over the next year rests on the decision we must make quickly. c) This decision, which we must make very quickly, will determine the direction of the company. Very quickly, we must make a decision which will determine the company's direction. #2 Which pair correctly uses a hyphen? a) Big-furry dog b) Happy-little girl c) Friendly-looking dog d) Large-green sofa I think it's #1 is b & #2 is c.
I'm thinking C for the first one. A and B say "over the next year," which sort of counters the fact that the decision must be made quickly. C shows a long-term change dependent on a quick decision. so I'd go with C. For #2, A should be "Big, furry dog," B should be "Happy little girl," and D should be "Large, green sofa." Therefore, your answer would be C.
Which sentence correctly uses hyphens? a) The accountant gave the tables a quick-glance of review. b) The sugared-fruit was popular at first but then overlooked. c) The quick-thinking, well-dressed speaker shocked the audience. d) The actress was still fretted-over before her stage entrance. Would this one be, d? @Zedditup
The answer would not be D. Fretted is a verb, so if she frets over something, it doesn't require a hyphen. The answer should be C, simply because I've never seen "well-dressed" without a hyphen
