D. Karl Marx Karl Marx wrote Das Kapital and the Communist Manifesto, creating Communism. Montesquieu and John Locke were Enlightenment thinkers, whose ideas gave power to the people, which DID lead to the revolution. Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, which DID inspire the French revolution.
