What is the solution for the equation 8x − 12 = 4x? x = ___. i will give a medal i just need a little help can anyone help ?

i know i have to add the like terms but it wants me to have a whole number only and i got 0.3333333 ?

8x -12 = 4x subtract 4x 4x -12 = 0 add 12 to the right 4x = 12 divide by 4 x = 3

oh so you just divide 12 by four and not 4 by 12 , it doesn't affect it ? @Jdosio
