Fan and medal!!!!! The function f(x) = −x^2 + 48x − 432 models the profit, in dollars, a game developer makes for selling a new game, where x is the number of games sold and f(x) is the amount of profit. Part A: Determine the vertex. What does this calculation mean in the context of the problem? (5 points) Part B: Determine the x-intercepts. What do these values mean in the context of the problem? (5 points)

OpenStudy (mrnood):

have you written this correctly? it implies that the profit falls rapidly as he sells more units Are you sure there is a - sign before x^2 ?

OpenStudy (lalaland_lauren):

Yes, that's how it came

OpenStudy (mrnood):

well - you should recognise a quadratic equation I hope the vertex is the max OR min values and you should know what the x intercepts are : the points where y = 0 this question doesn't make sense to me - but treat it as any other quadratic
