What's the question?
Write a brief evaluation of macro and trace minerals, and the wellness implications of their inadequate or excessive intake. Describe some of the health problems that could result. Then use a case study scenario on the macro-mineral of your choice. Thoroughly study the mineral using online or library sources. Find problem areas of mineral intake and produce realistic recommendations. I have this already but I don't think I answered the question:Minerals are grouped into two groups, macro minerals and trace minerals another name, micro minerals. Macro minerals are calcium and Magnesium. They are needed by the body in large amounts of 100 mg or more. Trace minerals are zinc and copper which are needed in smaller amounts given in mcg. Less than 100 mg. Sodium is a useful mineral to give taste to food. It is an essential component of a healthy, balanced diet. Taking an excessive amount of this mineral can be detrimental to your health and wellbeing. Sodium is used to control the volume of your blood this impacts your blood pressure. This mineral can also conduct electricity to cells so that muscle contraction and transmission of the nerve impulses. Sodium is really prevalent so it’s easy to consume excessive quantities. This can lead you to have high blood pressure. Especially for people with things like kidney disease too much can lead to dangerous levels of retention of water. For example let’s say you know someone with somewhat an elevated blood pressure and diabetes and they are African American’s over the age of 50. In most people the kidneys will have trouble keeping up with the excess sodium in the blood. For this person, I would recommend little quantities of salt to none because they are really at risk. Salt is for the volume of the blood which impacts the blood pressure. This will make your blood pressure increased if you take too much salt. Over time, the buildup of the salt will cause the heart to work more and more pressure on the blood vessels. This can cause a heart attack or even a stroke. This can also lead to heart failure. There is also evidence that without any having high blood pressure problems, the salt can dame your heart, kidneys and aorta. This is also is bad for the bones.
