Which of these will make new information easier to remember? memorizing it word for word memorizing only key points making predictions about the text applying it to what you already know giving up on trying to memorize the entire tex

I think it's memorizing key points, however, applying it to what you already know could help as well. It also may depend on the individual.

What is the difference between paraphrasing and summarizing? Summarizing doesn't include cutting the original material down. They are one and the same. Summaries are shorter. Paraphrasing involves putting original material into your own words. Paraphrases are longer.

well summaries are basically the backs of books, and paraphrasing is taking original text and cutting it down and rewording it
