The war in Iraq started because saddam hussein was a tyrant, wanted money, power, and to control his people in any way possible. We also thought he could be producing the materials needed to make a nuclear bomb. The country was unstable, and leaders were suspected to be part of the Al Qaeda and Taliban. This was not good, since al qaeda was responsible for the September 11 attack. The invasion began on March 19, 2003 to topple saddam's government, to secure any illegal weapons he had, to stop saddam's support of terrorism, and to free the Iraqi people. We did all of these successfully and then tried to create a democratic government without any supporters of terrorism, and tyrants. This led to us needing to be "The Law" or "Police Force" in iraq. We had to train troops to defend Iraq train government workers and police officers. The final task was to remove any and all terrorists in Iraq.
