Some small black and red Ants were busily drying their large store of yellow corn kernels one clear but cold day in winter." 
 See how the sentence was cut in half and switched around? That is what is meant by varying sentence structure. Vivid images and adjectives were also added to help you get a feel of the story, characters and scene better. Use your imagination and be as creative as you can! I know you have the ability to make this an amazing fable.
