Given that (-3,7) is on the graph of f(x), find the corresponding point for the function f(x+5).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

functional values?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@arindameducationusc can you help please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this one depends on whether its a linear function or not

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

hey, i m here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well tbh it depends

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@arindameducationusc do you know functional values?

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

Putting values in function and getting output?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

Analysing...wait...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

@welshfella

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

@LynFran

OpenStudy (welshfella):

f(x + 5) move the graph of f(x) 5 units to the left

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but there was no graph only the question

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

I got it....!

OpenStudy (welshfella):

- so only the x-coordinate changes

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

Easy way.... x+5=-3 =>x=2 and y=0 so, point is (2,0)

OpenStudy (welshfella):

the point (-3,7) moves 5 units to the left

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

Check answer and let me know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i will but i skip it and ill let you know when i get back to it

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

okay @crissyyyxoxo123
