If LK is a midsegment of HIJ find x. So I plugged 6 into (3*6-11) which gave me 7. I know that HK and IK are equivalent to each other because they are cut in half.. I just want to make sure I set up the equation properly..

Right.. you got '6' by solving the equation:

3x - 11 = 7
3x = 18
x = 6

So 'x' is equal to 6

Yep, you're correct..HK is equivalent to KI.
