Two lines that do not intersect are parallel. always sometimes never

OpenStudy (lillylilly1126):

sometimes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no. its always

OpenStudy (lillylilly1126):

no because if the lines can hit without turning anytime in the future but are not intersecting lines they cannot be parrellel

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the definition of parallel lines are two lines that never intersect

OpenStudy (lillylilly1126):

yes and there is the possibility of the lines intersecting in the future with out turning they cant be parallel

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have no idea what the heck you are talikng about. if you want to get the answer wrong put sometimes. but to get it right put always

OpenStudy (lillylilly1126):

tell me who was right when u find the answer so i can know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it cannot be sometimes you are thinking of line segments which are different you are thinking of something like this |dw:1438277748727:dw| but it is say lines not line segments so they go on and on forever if they get any were near each other they will at some point intersect so the only time they won't is if they are parallel

OpenStudy (anonymous):

always in plane geometry, sometimes in spatial geometry. the answer was always. thank you both for your help!!! :)

OpenStudy (lillylilly1126):

ok i did not think of that
