Help, will medal xoxox

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Any ideas?

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

I think it would be 1500 times .5 which would equal 750?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

But that would be 50%, right?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

The question assumes that 5% of people like the restaurant.

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

Sooo?

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

Would it be 1,500 minus 750?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Read the problem carefully and think about its meaning. Decide what is being asked for and what facts are known. Making a sketch may help :-)

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

Okay, I thought about it and it is 375. I took 5% of 1,500 and ended up with 750. After this I divided it by 2 to determine the estimate of who would like it.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

5% of the general public like the restaurant

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

So 750?

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

750 like the restaurant

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think so

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Given the fact that 5% of the general public like the restaurant, what percent of food critics should like the restaurant?

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

5% right? because there is no other information given about the food critics

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would think so

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Correct :-)

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

So the answer is 5%

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Yes, the answer is 5%.

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

After all that ruckus lol

zarkam21 (zarkam21):

Thank you =)

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Good job in figuring it out by yourself :D
