I will medal and fan best answer!! I need explanation AND answer!!!!!! There are 236 basketball fans who plan to go to a game. How many buses will be needed, given that each bus can hold 43 fans?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

236/43=5.488 but you can only choose 6

thanks @saseal

235/43 would give you 5.488 but because there is no .488 of a bus ou have to take 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

each bus can fit 43 guys but theres 236 guys so you need to divide amount of guys into the number each bus can fit to get the number of buses you need. you get 5.488 but theres no such thing as 5.488 bus so you take 6

The 6th bus will hold the remaining people who could not fit into the 5th bus
