Can somebody please explain the getNextValues function of the Feedback machine from chapter 4? Why do we call getNextValues() of the constituent machine twice and ignore two values? Please explain in detail step by step, Thank you

What do you mean with "call getNextValues() of the constituent machine twice "? See the accumulator definition in point 4.1.1.4 o(s,i) = n(s,i). I think the two values you mean are these the output and next state The point 4.1.2 say that getNextValues is a pure function , do not change any value of state only show which will be the next state and output with the state and input we have.
