oh wow... I thought if we have the fraction as 0/0 then we can use L'hopital's rule? It's been 5 years since I've done it, but I still know how it works.

yeah I would plug in the a (which is the limit) and then if I have 0/0 then I take derivatives. plug that limit again and if I still have 0/0 take derivatives...if not. stop taking derivatives.
