How do you annotate books that Language Arts teacher's give you? I was given The Great Gatsby. I don't know where to start when it comes to annotating it.

Start by writing downs a few ideas freely on a seperate sheet, and then, stop and read what you wrote, then write ideas and a brief summary about it, I guess. Hope this helps :)

I loved that book! I hope you enjoy it. :) When it comes to annotating, you can do the separate sheet method (as stated above) or actually write in the book itself on the blank sides/pages (which can get a little messy). Also, you can use a highlight system such as yellow: important details/main idea, blue: characters, orange: important dates, purple: events, and the list can go on as long as you remember which colour represents. :)
