Natural selection is the process where favorable traits which can help the species survive in the changing environmental conditions adapt better are selected and forwarded to next generation gradually. Finally after many generations a new species is formed which is different from the original species. In selective breeding the breeder takes the male and female with desired traits and mate them which results in a hybrid species with all the desired traits. This process takes place in a single step/generation.
