geometric means that you are multiplying a term to get the next term. to check divide the 2nd term by the 1st term and then the 3rd term by the 2nd term this is how to identify the common ratio... if both calculations yield the same value then there is a good chance its geometric... just check my continuing the multiplication pattern remember the common ratio can be a fraction and or negatives as well as being a whole number
