how do you factor 3x³-7x²-7+3x help

OpenStudy (danjs):

did you get anywhere yet?

OpenStudy (danjs):

Try rearranging... \[3x^3 + 3x - 7x^2-7\]

OpenStudy (danjs):

factor the first 2 terms, and the last 2 terms...

OpenStudy (danjs):

\[3x*(x^2+1) + (-7)*(x^2+1)\]

OpenStudy (danjs):

now just factor a (x^2+1) from both terms

OpenStudy (danjs):

\[(x^2+1)(3x-7)\]

OpenStudy (danjs):

you see?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thank you very much

OpenStudy (danjs):

welcome
