OpenStudy (anonymous):

brb got to go take my dog for a walk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve for anything inside a bracket first Parenthese comes first before addition After the bracket is solved to one value, multiplication comes after Subtraction is the last step

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes plz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which equation is in the brackets?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok the answer is 146

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you get that i got 391

OpenStudy (anonymous):

stop giving answers with no work at all

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use this website www.mathway.com

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its the only reason i just an A in math last year

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it does not help during a test because you cannot use a website.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

[5+21*(16/2)] those are the equations in the brackets

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5+21? you said 5+2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@sydneehazen

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So wait is it 5 plus 21 or 5 plus 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i see what i did it is 5+2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea so the next step i wrote earlier is do the one in parenthese first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 16/2 is 8 for the ones in the parentheses

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then you multiply it by 2 because multiplication comes before addition After you multiply by 2 you add it by 5 to finish solving for the bracket.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What did you get for the bracket value?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so it would be 16 right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did you add the 5 in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no but if i did it would be 21

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you were supposed since I asked you to solve for the bracket value so we can finish faster. then it becomes 7[21]-1 Multiplication comes first then subtraction in this one. And there is your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

supposed to*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1438902025033:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea, you got the answers and steps correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem.
