there are a number of ways of expressing this number in simplified terms, can you be more specific
convert to scientific notation? possible factor? find the degree?

I have this as the question: On Tuesday, a city’s parking meter income is up 311 from Monday’s income, m. so, Tuesday’s income is m + 311. If m is 894, what is m + 311?

that seems pretty straightforward since m= 894 then m+311 = 894 +311
which is 1160 but it wants it in simplest form
what do you mean by simplest form?
in scientic notation it is 1.160 x 10^3 the decimal point moves 3 places to the left.
since 10^3 = 1000, then you get 1.160 x 1000 = 1, 160
