What tone does this passage convey? Hannah’s neighbors had been planning a surprise birthday party for her for weeks. She had no idea what they were planning. On the day of her birthday, she and her daughter went shopping. When they came back, Hannah told her daughter to go ahead of her and unlock the door. When she opened the door, Hannah saw the lights in her house go on and heard “Surprise!” She laughed and realized that her daughter’s entrance had started the party. -optimistic -humorous -angry -pessimistic
I'd say humorous.
I'm a bit agreeing with humorous or optimistic. It would be either of those.

I'd say optimistic
Angry and pessimistic are obviously crossed out here because the passage does not give any negative vibe. I would say optimistic. Optimistic because it has a very hopeful and cheery tone to it. Humorous is close however there is nothing funny and comedic about the passage. It leans closely towards a very light , happy mood that doesn't include any kind of humor if that makes any sense.
