Help with logarithms

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

so I believe the first one would be correct cause when put into 3^t=3^t

OpenStudy (danjs):

http://www.purplemath.com/modules/logrules.htm those 3 rules

OpenStudy (danjs):

and \[\log_{b}(b) = 1 \]

OpenStudy (danjs):

1) you can move the t down in front, left with log base 3 of 3 = 1 so it is true

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

what about number 2 is switching the 4.3 around make it the same?

OpenStudy (danjs):

yes, you can move the power to the front, but ln is base e, so you cant simplify that more... 2) is true too

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

For 3 Is it not true because they are being multiplied together not added seperately?

OpenStudy (danjs):

log(x*y) = log(x) + log(y)

OpenStudy (danjs):

do that , then move the power on y down

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

what do you mean when you say move the y down?

OpenStudy (danjs):

no, the power n, move that down in front like before
