True: Food chains and food webs are effectively the same thing, and energy can be transfer can be followed every time one organism consumes another. Similarly Trophic Levels are just food webs in a much more broad sense (ie: primary producers -> primary consumers -> secondary consumers). Transfer of energy can be followed through the trophic levels broadly to determine how much energy is lost in general every time there is a transition.
