What were the advances and limitations of early photography

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Photography, when it first was discovered was no where near as advanced as it is today. The first cameras required a lot of man power to work and were much more difficult to maneuver. Photos were also extremely expensive at the time so many people didn't have the money to buy them. But even though they weren't as simple as today without the first cameras we would never have found out the magnificent wonders of photography.
